HITS Del Mar National show was a huge educational stepping stone for me. I brought two horses:
Duque (6 years old / Hanoverian ) : I've only had him in my training program for about a month. When we purchased him, he came with no training background. He was just mainly a trail horse in WA.
He has such great deposition, and decided it would be great chance for him to have some exposure. When we arrived there, nothing sent him over the edge, walking him around the property was like riding a trail horse around the grounds.
With little training he's had, he excelled in his classes. We participated in training level test 3. We scored second and first in both classes during the weekend, scores ranging from 66-67%

Jonaz (16 years old / Friesian) : My Jojobean is a true dance partner for me. We just been together for about a year. When I first meet him, the owner told me he had only done 2nd level. As the next couple of weeks went by getting to know one another, there was so much talent and capability in him that had never been explored.
At this show, it had me understand Jonaz so much better. It taught me to get creative about how to better prepare a horse, especially handling show environments. I found a show prep system that by the time Jonaz goes into the arena, he's relaxed and happy in his environment.
